The hotel is located amongst other accommodations. It is a good location to places and airport. It is though old room but clean and sufficient. I liked the 'pavillion' style. Unfortunately we did not get to stay in one of the pavillions but in the main builing. But that's fine.

It should be compulsory to visit the Quake Museum to understand why there are so many vacant lots. Christchurch is a modern city, extremely clean and everyone we talked to, is proud to live there. A must to visit are the Riverside Markets, The Church Brew Pub [a new experience!], the Art Gallery, the Arts Centre, take the bus to Lyttleton, a small fishermen village and, if possible, take the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. We gave the trams a miss as we could walk everywhere from our accommodation but it is a fantastic way to see Christchurch from the comfort of the seat.

I was based in Hornby for my 3-day stay.
I was based in Hornby for my 3-day stay. The motel I used was perfectly placed for everything I needed to do, next to a lovely park and with easy access to restaurants and the Hub mall facilities for shopping. I wish I'd had a bit more time to explore how the city centre has changed since I was last there, but not this trip.

I spent 4 months in NZ and for various reasons and at different times, stayed about 9 nights/days in Christchurch, alone and also with my husband. We loved the vibe of the city. It felt a happy place, offering everything a city has to offer but in an intimate way. It felt safe, clean and it was lovely to see families enjoying the public bbqs and spaces. Lots of greenery and parks. A place that felt traditional yet new. Great places to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Really loved this place and I am not a city person! Riccarton House and gardens was a highlight. There are plenty of places around to explore for day trips too and the second hand bookshops in Ferry Road area are the least expensive I have come across in NZ! Could definitely keep going back there, even just for the hospitality and genuine friendliness of the locals.

Our visit was shorter than we would of liked but I fully recommend the International Antarctic Centre - children loved it and we could of stayed longer, informational, fun, interactive and lots to do, husky puppy was gorgeous and Matua who greeted us was informative and korero was refreshing. The cafe was great and again even the children found food they liked.
We went to Build-a-Bear to create a keepsake of our trip and that was a fun activity - Mall was open to 9pm so we were able to pop down and not rush.
The Outlet Store for new Crocs - a must for Croc addicted children.
Christchurch Tram Tour - Is a must-do. (We have done this tour previously and were disappointed to not be able to go this visit)
Christchurch Library (Tūranga) - Interactive and fun, friendly people.
We had hired a Campervan to travel in and there was a lot of areas that you could park a Camper so that was great for us to pull over and walk around.
We didn't do as much sightseeing as we would have liked but we have decided to book again for a few more days there as we spent more time in Dunedin then we expected.
We did miss going to Cookie Time as traffic was horrendous so that needs to be planned better for our next time down there.

A great city to get around.
A great city to get around. Plenty of eating places & things to do especially with the lovely weather and all the Autumn trees.
Riverside markets was great for breakfast & the Japanese restaurant Sokimoto for dinner.
Loved our Floral Art Conference in Christ's College. What a privilege to be able to go there.
Very central location to all facilities yet very quiet. Mixing business and family activities was done easily by walking to venues. With a bus stop very close it was cheap and quick from/to the airport. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The hosts were very accommodating, gave lots of property information prior to and during our stay which made checking in and out very easy and efficient. Office and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
Comfy bed and great pillows
Small room and no room for two suitcases if 2 travellers are stopping in. We made it work though.
Convenient location. Walking distance to explore Christchurch. Wasn’t too much directly in the hotel area but super close to the cathedral.
There was a restaurant downstairs but we didn’t try it.
Clean, Warm, $50 taxi from the airport, tea and coffee facilities only. Small bar fridge.
Enjoyed our stay here. Accommodate our late check in.
Reception and housekeepers were helpful and friendly.
We ended our coach tour at The Distinction Hotel, Cathedral Square. And wishing to stay on in Christchurch we found Quest Apartments on the www. The apartment had all that we needed
and was very good value. We didn't need a car and we could walk around the square and visit the library, walk to the Botanic Gardens, and the shops, the bus station The location was perfect. We could prepare our own breakfast, morning/afternoon tea and ate our lunch/dinner out.
Fabulous hotel, this was our second stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is lovely. The rooms are clean and of good size with great facilities. The restaurant serves great food. Handy to the Antarctic Centre and local shops and a short walk from Christchurch Airport. We were able to rest and felt revitalised from our short stay. Would be delighted to stay there again and thoroughly recommend the hotel.
This is a small, clean hotel not far (about 15-20 minutes walk) from the centre of Christchurch. The room itself wasn't big, but we didn't spend much time there, so that didn't matter. Despite being just outside the city centre, it was a pleasant walk there, and it's also close to Hagley Park. There are also good eating and drinking places close by if you don't want to go into the city centre.
Orari Boutique Hotel is a lovely old house close to everything Christchurch has to offer. Staff were very welcoming upon our arrival and were very helpful. We sat outside on the front porch with a complementary class of wine which was a very nice touch! Breakfast was more on the continental side but very lovely and a great way to start your day. The house itself and garden were beautiful!
Designer Cottage was a great value for Christchurch! The room was super cute and cozy. I loved the garden and outdoor table. There are lots of food options nearby. Breakfast was nice and the owner was very accommodating to my special dietary needs (gluten free and dairy free). He also provided plug adapters when mine stopped working and arranged for my early morning taxi to the airport.
It is a beautiful location, close to the botanical Gardens and the Hagley Gardens.
They held my baggage after checkout, so I was free to enjoy Christchurch for a few more hours without being encumbered by my suitcase.
Close to public transport to the airport.
The number 3 bus is just a 5 mins walk near the corner of Riccarton and Bartlett Streets / Thai Orchard restaurant.
Have been a returning Guest at Hotel Give Christchurch City for some time, it's always a pleasure coming back to stay.
Great location, Comfortable Beds, Clean Rooms & Kitchen facilities. Good selection of Room types for your budget.
24 Hour Reception and Staff are very helpful. The new Airport Bus Stop is just along the same Road and was very handy.
Excellent location for a last minute presents shop, Riccarton Mall, easy access to Christchurch’s main attractions. Also a mere 20 minutes from the airport to meet your flight. Mana Was very helpful throughout and organised our airport shuttle well.
Great location when arriving by plane. Just a short walk to check-in, the bus stop is outside the hotel door and connects easily to downtown Christchurch. The staff is friendly and helpful! The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Great stay!
Travellers Retreat B&B is perfect location near airport. The host also arranges a free shuttle to/from the airport. Quiet neighborhood. The host provided an early breakfast and free transfer to the airport without any problem. Thank you Fiona.
Great bedrooms, with large comfortable beds. Ensuite for each room was great for two couples. Very short walk across the road to the beach, and to various cafes. Easy access to Christchurch CBD and airport, with the bus stop just down the road.
Very nice hotel. Modern, new, clean rooms and facilities. Excellent hot breakfast with good variety.
Room has mini frig, air con, safe, Very close to airport. Perfect place to sat when flying in or out from Christchurch.
Location good. Service friendly. Simple check in/out. Good shower water pressure. 12 minute walk from airport building. Smooth path to wheel two large suitcases. No need for taxi. Bus stop to city 5 mins walk from hotel.
Spacious, clean, comfortable, great facilities, friendly staff, free parking, location near the park and walking distance from centre of Christchurch, short drive from airport. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
The location was great for UC, Riccarton and Christchurch, and the airport. The manager was really friendly welcoming and helpful. Plenty of food options around.
Clean and spacious room, staff were very helpful, 10-15min walk to CBD and there is a direct bus (no. 29) right outside the hotel that goes to/from the airport.
